It's been over a year since I've posted anything on this blog. It has been a wish of mine for a while to become the media specialist. My wish came true this summer. I am excited and nervous about this new position. I am anxious to start working with the students, but I am nervous about all the behind the scene workings of the media center.
If I had an assistant I wouldn't be so nervous. After the previous assistant retired, the assistant position was eliminated. I would tease the previous assistant, and tell her that she would have to come back, to volunteer and hold my hand. She passed away this year. I was heart-broken. She was such a blessing to everyone around her. Although we purchased some books in her memory, I would like to do more.
As I was going through the library, I came across old library pockets that had been stamped with the school name on them. I begin thinking about all the other things that she has probably touched in that library....
