Spam attack!!!!

Posted 10-14-2010 at 03:28 AM by Speced9

(Deep movie narrator voice)
"In a world where blogs are read freely...."
"Comes a menace so utterly clever and evil....."
"Looking to bend the minds of readers....."
"Turning them into mindless consumers of cheap Internet products and scams......"
"It's SPAM ATTACK!!!!"<!--break-->

Those crazy spammers. Yep, like nature, spam will always find a way. That new way is to use my comments section to spread their wicked ways.

It's always nice to get that email telling me that someone has commented on one of my blog posts. It's a little reminder for me that yes, people are out there who enjoy reading what I tap out on my computer keyboard. Imagine my surprise though when I get there and read,

"WORK FROM HOME! BE YOUR OWN BOSS!"

Yikes! I've been spammed!

At first, I just started deleting these comments. You can do that you know. As an official PT blogger, I have the power to delete any and all comments here on Fear and Loathing. It's a tedious process; a little more than a few clicks, but it gets the job done. Like magic, the spam is gone like it never existed. Then it dawned on me that I could use this to my advantage.

As a PT blogger, I also have the power to EDIT all comments on my blog.:D

So, I've resorted to editing said spam to boost my self-esteem and trick my readers into thinking that Fear and Loathing is reaching the powerful elite of the world. Just check out my most recent visitor comments:

Here's another who recognizes my greatness:

So remember dear readers, what is meant to annoy, trap and scam can be turned into a higher level of self esteem for you and your readers.

    Thanks for the tip!

    Awesome idea! I am so going to steal that from you, and (hate me for doing this, while loving me for being so honest) not credit you at all for the idea! Sorry, but that is just too awesome of an idea, and I want to see how long it takes my readers (my mom and dad) to notice what I am doing!
