Do any of you have your class recite a positive poem or mantra during circle time each morning? I'm looking for something to help build a positive classroom community that will help us start the day on a positive note.

So, it's not quite a poem but we do various greetings that my kids love. One of them is sang to the tune of Bingo and goes "We have a friend inside our class and ____ is his nameo. Jump jump _____. Jump jump _____. Jump jump ______ and _____ is his nameo." They really enjoy it. It practices names, gives everyone a bit of movement, and starts us all off on a happy note.

I pledge today to do my best
in reading, math and all the rest.
I promise to obey the rules,
in my class and in my school.
I'll respect myself and others too.
I'll do my best in all I do.
I'm here to learn all I can,
to try my best and be all I am.
