I feel your pain. I think this kind of stuff happens all the time to teachers. I find that most parents are fine, but all it takes is one or two to really make your entire year stressful.

I don't know about your relationship with your principal, but I would ask how come he/she doesn't inquire about whether the parent has contacted the teacher before jumping in the middle of the problem.

Good luck on your meeting with the admin and parent.

You have my sympathy! We've all been there, and it's becoming worse. I think they go to the principal because they want to get the teacher in trouble. I once had a principal who absolutely refused to meet with parents until they had first contacted the teacher.

Depending on how you feel, I would ask "Why didn't you bring this problem to my attention so we could have solved this problem together in a timely manner?"

TGIF, hope you can have a good weekend!

I have had two parents this week alone complain about me. One is to say their child is being bullied but they did they bother to call me and tell me what is going on? nope. Is their child being bullied? No its typical little kid not getting along with others.

Second is supposedly their child has been left alone multiple times in the room without supervision. Now I may have on accident forgotten a child once when leaving for recess but I realized it the moment the kids were outside the door and walked right back in. Not once have I ever left a child alone totally unsupervised. Now I have to have a meeting with admin and the parent. I'm totally over this not contacting the teacher when you have a question/concern. There are 6 openings at my school alone.
