I'm so sorry. I just lost my 17 year old cat in September. His kidneys failed. They really are part of the family.

I'm so sorry. We are also close to this with our older girl (she's 16), looking at quality of life v quantity of life at this point. At the moment, she's doing well, but that could change any day.

I am so very sorry about Spotty. She is beautiful. No matter how long we have our pets it is just never long enough.

Thank you all for your kind words and support. I lost my seventeen-year-old velcro Kitty / Snuggle Buddy last fall. He was constantly attached to me . Spotty was more spouse's cat, and not nearly as cuddly, but it is still unexpected and sad as 13 is on the young side for how long my cats tend to live. I once had one that made it to 22!

Luckily I have an amazing vet who I've known for at least 24 years now. She gives good practical advice and is very sympathetic. Her oldest boy and my twins started in daycare together at 18 months and then played all sorts of sports together and we've been friends ever since.

Spotty is gorgeous, its a beautiful photo of her. She will always be a part of your heart. Enjoy your time together.

Just got the bloodwork results that my 13 year old girl I have had for 6 years is in late stage kidney failure. Keeping her comfortable for a couple weeks until it is time. Poor Spotty.
