How many do you have and how many students? I had 10 iPads and 24 students and assigned them a number. If for some reason another student was using the same number at the same time, the students would borrow a different one and write their initials and number on the white board. Low tech, but easy. I was also intentional about assigning them in a way where they probably would not overlap with students using them.

you can create a form for each tablet and create a barcode for each form and stick it at the back of the device. You scan the barcode and the form will open with tablet # name of the person borrowing. This info will go to a spreadsheet. If I research a easier way, I will come back and let you know. Or if you find one please put info here.

I have 1:1 in my classroom and I have numbered each device and assigned them to a kid. they use the same one each day. They learn pretty quickly to plug them in (or they have a flat battery!) and it is easy because they know where their own device is. Not all the devices are the same, but if you need to switch to the lenovo chromebook (with the fancy rotating camera) or a macbook, then you have to switch your device for theirs. It works for me.

Hello!
I was wondering if anyone here had any idea about any software or technology that would help me to manage my Classroom tablet set. My idea is to use barcodes or QR codes in order to “assign“ a student a tablet per day. My idea would be that student A would take tablet 4 I would be able to scan student A and tablet 4 and it would keep track of that in a daily spreadsheet. Is this possible? Does anyone know of an easy solution for this? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
