I just started using booksource.com's library organization app. For books, I entered them into my library by scanning the barcodes already there. If you know how to make your own bar codes, it could work really well.

I can use my iPhone to scan a book, and then I can scroll through a drop down box to check it out to a particular student.

Hi
I teach digital communications (aka-video production)
I'm seeking a way to scan equipment when students take it outside of the classroom.
Thinking about using an old iPhone (maybe a 4) or iPod touch, download a free app to scan barcodes that I can stick on cameras, microphones, tripods, etc. Students can scan their item so I can keep track every hour who used what.

Anyone do anything like this with books or other items that students are checking out of the classroom ?
Recommend app?

Thank you,
Kelly
