Oh, bless you. My 4th and 5th graders are more work than my older kids. Let me know if you ever want to vent, advise or just talk.

I will be teaching 4th and 5th grade SPED this year and most of my students have behavioral needs but only a few have the EBD label on their IEP.

I know. I have mini breakdowns when my kids leave for the high school.

I know... right? I have been super depressed all day... I hate leaving my kids.

I did the same... made my own lessons based off of need. Used Julia Cook books but they might be too babyish for your kids.

RE: curriculum
I too am making my own lessons based on student need with some crossover into Life Skills/Social Skills as time permits. It has been okay so far but it feels inadequate... Like I'm just "putting out fires," as the saying goes...
Thanks for the title and review though. That is one more I am at least hearing about.

Hmmm, most people run far away from our jobs.

School provides Skillstreaming for the Adolescent. I'm not a fan. I'm not held to a curriculum and write lessons based on student need.

4th grade learning support... I have my suspicions that someone wanted my job that they like better.

the ED/BD in MS/HS at our small school. I also have a small caseload of the very low functioning students with a variety of disabilities.
If I can ask without taking the thread too off track, what curriculum have you all used and liked for the Emotional/Behavioral Support?

Where are they moving you?

Me too... I don't want to move and there is no reason to.... but it is what it is.

I'm 4th-8th. I'm surprised that they'd be moving you. Not very many people want our jobs.

I don't normally run across anyone else who does what I do. Are there any more Emotional/Behavioral Support Teachers out there? I'd love some people to bounce ideas off of and to talk to about things. I'd love for there to be a message board for us.
