You inspired me to go outside to do my work. I couldn't see my computer screen out there so I ended up propping the door open and sitting just inside, but it was a moment just the same. Thank you!

I love your photo! Oh, the simple joy of living life the way you want to--no demands or time schedule. And yes, seeing school buses loaded with kids is a joy of mine too.

Is having time to enjoy and savor all of life's little journeys.
Merry Christmas to you and your DW, EdfromBama! I enjoy reading about your adventures in the Southeastern part of our magnificent country.

Anything is wonderful when we don't have the stress of collecting data, Common Core, Professional Development and Danielson (or whatever evaluation system you had) hanging over our heads! Sounds like a wonderful day!

You and your wife seem to be having a great time exploring all the quiet natural places of Florida and Alabama. Have you explored places in Georgia yet? I had a friend who spent a couple of days roaming around the Okeefenokee Swamp. She loved the adventure and peace.

Good evening to all- this morning, my wife and I loaded up a couple of kayaks and drove past any number of school buses loaded with kids going to school. It was very nice seeing them heading to school while we were not.
We went to a little place called Byrnes Lake- it's not really a lake but a bayou which feeds into the massive Mobile Delta. We paddled down to where the smaller bayou empties into one of the very big rivers which comprise the Mobile Delta.
We saw birds and heard more. We didn't see any alligators- not unexpected this time of year, even though it has been very warm so far.
Nothing major happened- didn't do anything adventurous or exciting. Just paddled and looked at the world as it has been for a long, long time. it was very nice, and I'm glad we went.
So, that might just be the best present we will get this year for Christmas. if so, that's quite fine with me.
Good day to all- Ed
