At least the lines of communication are still open. Still praying for your peace and a miracle only God can perform on her.

Every new start is a new opportunity to succeed.

I agree with caring for you. My son had difficult years and our relationship is broken but mending. I remember feeling like my thoughts with everything was one tangled mess. Thankfully I found a wonderful counsellor who helped me unravel them. It's still a work in progress.

I wish for continued encouraging news. Many good thoughts to your family and daughter.

You are an amazing representation of love and strength. Always hoping for the best for you and your family!

eliza4one 10-17-2019 08:20 PM

Nancy, how are you and your DH doing? Have you been able to connect with a support group such as Families Anonymous?

It's important to take care of yourself. Dealing with addictions is like running a marathon. Training isn't optional.
I second this. NarAnon was a lifesaver for me during the times of uncertainty with our DD.

You're all still in my thoughts and prayers, Nancy. I hope that she continues to take positive steps, even if they are baby steps.

holding your family close to my heart and saying prayers for her safety.

Hold on to any good news you get. Continuing to pray for protection, provision, peace, and comfort.

Thank you for the update. I have continued to send prayers for her and you too. I hope your daughter continues to have some positive steps in the right direction. Stay strong. You are an amazing mom. Take care of yourself!

chipmunky 10-17-2019 05:44 PM

Not exactly the news I hoped you would share, but I see a lot of positive steps. I am happy that she is going to the group and counseling. I hope the right meds will help her stay the path so she can work with the therapists.

I also so hope that you can keep a constant communication with her.

Munchkins 10-17-2019 05:40 PM

Yes, mostly good. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Your love and devotion to your family is so admirable. Thank you for the update- I hope you know how much you are cherished.

anna 10-17-2019 05:15 PM

One day at a time is my motto. You know where she is and that she has appointments set up. This is great news! Thanks for the update.

klarabelle 10-17-2019 05:08 PM

It sounds promising. Will continue prayers.

Hideeho 10-17-2019 05:01 PM

I haven't posted in a while, so I'm behind.

Is your DD still living with that man?
I agree that the above is mostly good.
What a long road you all have walked.

I continue to think of your family. You are a wonderful mother, a model of caring that never stops.

Sending hugs Nancy. (((())))

This is what we know about DD:

Sunday she took her 3rd dose of Abilify (a great anti-psychotic) prescribed by her PCP.

This week she had appointments for:
Dental work
Check ups with PCP and Planned Parenthood
The first of 5 months of weekly group meetings for substance abusers
Counseling which will include a referral to a psychiatrist

We also know she used meth on Sunday night.

Those are mostly very good things, but we've been there before and now her addictions are much more serious. We are cautious. As I write this, who knows what's going on?

Thank you all so much for your concern, support, care, thoughts and prayers!
