my computer crashed again - 4th time - just ove Dell (yeah, right!), but it's supposed to be fixed this weekend. If you click on my name, it will allow you to send a private message to me. It shouldn't post. You can try one that it doesn't matter and see if it works and if it does, send me your email address and phone number. I will use my neighbors computer to get the info. How many students per class? Presumably, they are about 14 years old? Nancy

Hi Nancy and thank you for getting back to me about this situation. Unfortunately, your email does not pop up but I would like to contact you and swap ideas! Please send me your email. Thank you again!

I may have some stuff that will help. It's too much to put on here, so contact me by email please. I think my email shows up, but if it doesn't, post a note on ProTeacher again and I'll send it to you. Nancy

Hey everyone!

My name is Tim and I have been teaching physical education in an inner city school in Brooklyn, NY for this entire school year. The school is a new school with a small student body (130 9th graders). However, the physical education gymnasium is a converted classroom. The class room consists of:

-Padded floors (similar to the padding found in weight rooms)
-Limited Equipment (foam balls, frisbees, cones, kickballs, etc)
-Glass Windows throughout half of the room
-Brick walls without padding
-3 treadmills and 3 bikes in two of the four corners of the room

So far my curriculum has included soccer, weight lifting, stationary fitness, Tae Bo, European Handball, Basketball (modified), soccer, kickball, Ultimate Frisbee, etc. However, during an incident with a Wiffle Ball unit (student got hit in the eye with a wiffle ball... yes a plastic wiffle ball ), I was instructed that I can no longer play wiffle ball in my gymnasium. For those found in a similar situation and environment, what are some activities that you found successful?
