Thanks for the responses! Part of me will be sad when she walks because she won’t be a baby anymore . They grow so fast!

I started walked at 10 months according to my mom. She said that I never crawled I just one day out of the blue got up and started walking like I had been doing it for years. I don’t have any children to measure that with.

techgrad 07-27-2019 03:45 PM

My twins are very different!
Daughter- 11 months. But tried and tried and tried.
Son- 18 months. He stood up and walked across the entire house. He never tried. Just watched and then did. He also was in a brace for his feet 24/7 up until he was 1 year old. And at naps and night until he was 3.

It’s been really hard, but I try not to compare them to each other or other kids.

Sbkangas5 07-27-2019 12:09 PM

My middle ds was 6 months! It was awful!! I never even got the "sits up but can't crawl yet" stage with him. He was full on running by 7 months and hasn't stopped.

juliet4 07-27-2019 09:49 AM

My older dd was 17 months! And she is just fine. Younger dd was 11 months.

crazy4catz 07-27-2019 09:34 AM

My boys both started walking at exactly 13 mos.

My daughter started taking a step here and there around 14 months, but was 15 months before she was walking confidently. She had crawled early (6.5 months) so I had expected her to walk earlier, but she was content with crawling and cruising. As long as there aren't any concerns like low muscle tone, she will do it when she's ready!

cheerio 07-27-2019 08:04 AM

16 months and he went from not walking to practically running. I wouldn’t worry.

teachnkids 07-27-2019 07:48 AM

DS @1

DD @16 months and has never stopped!

GraceKrispy 07-27-2019 07:15 AM

#1-. 15.5 mo. -- crawled at 13mo
#2- 17 mo. -- crawled at 10 mo
#3-. 9 mo. -- crawled at 7 mo

We pretty much hit the whole"normal" range!

Ruby07 07-27-2019 07:06 AM

My DD didn't walk until 16.5 months!!! And she was right on schedule, according to her pediatrician....within "normal limits".

Babies typically take their first steps between 9-18 months. That's a HUGE range. My DD was a laid-back baby. Happy to sit and play right where she was, not interested in exploring. Her pediatrician believed that was why her language developed so much quicker.

Empty Nester 07-27-2019 06:57 AM

DD walked at 10 months and ran at 10 1/2 months...she hasn’t stopped since!! DGS walked on his first birthday.

prechrswife 07-27-2019 06:37 AM

I think mine were all in the 14 month range.

NewIdentity 07-27-2019 06:35 AM

Both of my kids were around their first birthday. She will probably walk very soon on her own.

cemsnowy4 07-27-2019 06:13 AM

Both of my kids started walking at 15 months and they are perfectly fine. Kids will walk when they’re ready so I wouldn’t be too concerned.

twinmom95 07-27-2019 06:13 AM

I want to say my twins started walking maybe around 15 months?I was glad it wasn't sooner!! I think I started walking about the same time. DD started and took about six weeks to get good at it, while DS sat and watched and then got good at it in about 3 weeks haha

javamomma 07-27-2019 05:59 AM

Oldest son 11 months
Daughter 10 months (yes it is crazy but she did)
Youngest son 13 months

Zia 07-27-2019 05:52 AM

My oldest walked at 14 months and my youngest at 9 months.

potter403 07-27-2019 05:42 AM

Oldest was walking about 10 months old and youngest not until 14 months.

annie_g 07-27-2019 05:42 AM

My son walked right before his first birthday. His son (my grandson) just took his first steps at 14 months. And guess who he walked to? His Gigi (me).

arsabl 07-27-2019 05:35 AM

My DS was walking towards the end of 9 months. He was an early mover. He could move himself across the floor as a newborn.

My DGD didn’t walk until about 13-14 months. We thought she’d walk by her first birthday, but she didn’t start crawling until 9 months old.

deb603 07-27-2019 05:34 AM

My oldest was 15 months, so don't worry! She was a late crawler too.
My 2nd was 13 months and the baby was 9 months! She was trying to keep up with her sisters

choppie70 07-27-2019 05:24 AM

Both of my DD's were walking by 10 months.

mommy9298 07-27-2019 05:24 AM

Every baby is different. Older ds walked at 1. Younger ds at 14 months. He would always hold onto something, but when he let go to walk by himself it was all running. I always tell parents not to rush it. If there is a concern her parents can speak to her pediatrician.

bison06 07-27-2019 05:18 AM

My oldest started walking just after his first birthday. My second started walking at 10 months, but he had a big brother to keep up with.

linda2671 07-27-2019 05:18 AM

The oldest walked at 9 months. The second one at 15 months, and the third one at ten months.

heartmyjob 07-27-2019 05:09 AM

My sweet niece is the joy of my life! She’s about to be 13 months and still not walking. She scoots around everywhere and pulls herself up and walks with an adult holding her hands. I know she’s in the normal category for walking.

But I’m just curious, what age did your babies officially start walking?
