Thanks for the tips! I did get some primrose oil- took my first dose last night....it may have helped some.

My other problem is that Iím normally cold- except when a hot flash occurs...so I have been going back and forth between being bundled with blankets to throwing all the blankets off the bed then back to being bundled...it is really screwing up my sleep.

What really pisses me off is when you google this most of the tips are:
Lose weight
Exercise
Relax (reduce stress)
Donít smoke

I am not overweight, I exercise regularly, I donít smoke, and I control my stress. This is not my fault, I didnít cause this, and if this were a male problem, it wouldnít be a problem anymore because they would have cured the issue.

Imagine if that was the advice given to men if they had an issue with their reproductive aging

I just started primrose supplement and I think it's working. I've only been doing it for a few days but I haven't had the problem since I started. Maybe I'm just lucky??? It's worth a try! Others have sworn by it.

Elyssa, My dr put me on the lowest dose of estrogen (called Estrodial) and have been on it since my hysterectomy in Feb.
it helps, but I’m concerned about taking hormones
He said it’s fine, but, hmmmm,
I think I’ll look in my area to find the kind of hormones you recommend

I have found that evening primrose oil supplements and birth control pills help.

Also watching the sugar and booze consumption.

But like PP, I keep the air on 68. Good thing I live alone!

Bioidentical hormones. You won't get them from your regular OB/GYN. They will offer you synthetic hormone made from horse urine.

Find a good naturopath or doctor of osteopathy. You do not have to suffer.

Night sweats are the worst! I bought a cooling pillow at Target. It has cooling material inside. I also bought cooling sheets from Serta that I found. Both help, but theyíre not completely gone. A fan only contributed to my sinus issues and made them worse.

No one ever told me how much ďreaching a certain stageĒ was going to stink!

I found a cooling pad that is fantastic. It looks like a blue cloth ice pack, but it is self-cooling. I found mine in a medical supply store, but they make a similar one for dogs that is cheaper.

It helps to prevent hot flashes at night. I also have a ceiling fan on all the time. When those donít help, I put small pearl ice packs on the inside of my wrists and back of my neck.

Wearing loose-fitting, cotton pajamas helps, too.

Right now DH is under two blankets and has three dogs snuggled next to him. Iím on top of the covers with ceiling fan on and stand fan on, and air on 68į.

Nothing got rid of it completely but black cohosh pills and a ceiling fan helped.

I went from 0-60 with menopause at 32 due to a complete hysterectomy. The nights are no joke. A friend got me "menopause jammies" and I swear they helped!

I think it is official- I am having night sweats, it has been happening often enough that I can not just blame it on my blankets, or hot nights, or my husband putting off heat.....night sweats suck. Does anyone have any tips to help?
