Ouch! I can't even imagine how much that hurt!

And speaking of your taking the edge off, I recently saw a billboard for "adult milkshakes". You may need to look into that.

Thanks for the additional info! There are snakes in CO (rattlers), but no scorpions that I know least not in the Denver metro area!

Thank you all for your good thoughts and suggestions. The pain is better today but still very sore and tender. Definitely a 72 hour ordeal.

Sbkangas5 I think I’ll need to look into those adult milkshakes!

eliza4one Yes, just deal. Watch for severe symptoms like trouble breathing and call poison control or head to ER but otherwise not really anything for me to do but wait it out. Not really red, but yes did swell. Scorpion venom is real!

MAsped I thought about calling doc but they would just tell me to do what I was already doing which was ice and Advil.

PPCDTeacher As long as I kept it iced and numb the pain was bearable. The minute my foot “thawed out” I was once again a huge crybaby. I actually was worried about getting frostbite at one point!

Oh my gosh,,,, I have been stung a few times and the pain is excruciating!! Have you tried ice and ibuprofen?

Keltikmom 06-26-2022 07:05 AM

Owie owie owie!! That sounds really horrible. Tylenol? Benadryl? Then adult beverage. Hope it gets better soon.

MAsped 06-26-2022 07:02 AM

I'm sorry. So I guess you didn't have to even call the doctor?

Heck, I've never in my life even been stung by a bee.

ZipLine 06-26-2022 04:58 AM

Yikes! Iíve been stung on 2 separate occasions by a scorpion and itís not fun. Both times indoors. If you havenít already, take a pain killer and antihistamine.

Be careful when working outdoors. Snakes are out and about and there are some not so nice ones that lurk in leaves and woodpiles!

Hope you feel better soon!

Yikes! That sounds so painful. I hope youíre better soon.

eliza4one 06-25-2022 08:36 PM

Wow! I think that would hurt worse than a snake bite!!

Did you have to get anything for it to help it heal/limit the poison? Of do you just have to deal?! Does it swell? Is it red? A scorpion bit is foreign to me!!!

I'd have as many adult beverages as it would take to numb that excruciating sounding pain!!!

tctrojan 06-25-2022 07:32 PM

I recommend two adult beverages. That sounds extremely painful. I hope you recovery quickly.

Can I whine?

Yesterday morning I got clobbered by a scorpion. Stupid move on my part, was raking out flower beds wearing flip flops instead of shoes.

Got me good, at least 3 stings on the side of my foot. Screamed so loud Iím sure the neighbors thought I was being attacked or something.

The pain was excruciating the entire day and shock waves ran up to my knee. Today the pain is a little better but feels like my ankle is being crushed in a vice. With spikes.

The joys of living in the southwest! Oh and I would strongly recommend any adult beverage and unlimited ice cream to take the edge off if anyone finds themselves ever in the same predicament.
