I am a reading specialist in an elementary school working in the 3rd and 4th grade. I am looking for suggestions of books to use in a multilevel fiction unit. I want to encourage the teacher to have groups of students reading different books with a similar theme at their own level, rather than having the whole class read the same book (which is what they do now). Any theme would work (friendship, overcoming adversity, achieving a goal, etc.). I've had difficulty finding chapter books at a late second grade level. Thanks.
