We did green screen projects last year and the kids loved doing them! Ours were Science-based (pollution), but yours could record themselves giving a state report and place themselves in front of a point of interest from their state. I had never done green screen before, but we figured it out together and it was fun. We used to do the state float parade and it was fun too.

We have a Wax Museum of Famous Ohioans. They could still dress up like the person and send a pic. Write or record a report and make a slide show.

When I was in 4th grade, we made a book. The ABCs of...(insert state). I remember have a lot of fun making it and learning some cool facts about my state as I tried to come up with something for each letter.

We've done a state brochure. Students create a trifold and include facts, photos, maps, etc. to "advertise" our state.

I love that! Thanks for sharing!

How about a float parade? They can each use a shoebox or something similar, put wheels on it, design something around a state resource/location/activity and take it for a walk around the school.

I want my 4th graders to do a project for social studies. We learn about our state on 4th grade. Iím trying to come up with something other than a diorama or report.... does anyone have any projects that your students do that you love?
