You could do:
-rhyming with the word shoe (maybe as sight words)
"stepping into my shoes"
-"take a walk in my shoes"
-"taking a step toward success"
-"leaping into learning"
"walking toward success"
any cute puns like that!

walk in my shoes.... there are several shoe books on character education. Can't remember them...it was a long while ago. Even though I teach 4th grade, I taught the kids how to tie their shoes. You would be surprised how many didn't know how. We made it into a write the directions (in sequence) to tie a pair of shoes. Our animal shelter had a give a pair of shoes fundraiser at the time. Can't think of anything else right now.

You can get some more ideas from these sites below. The only thing I can remember that I have done is
" Our Journey Towards _____________ begins with the first step. "
"Reading is a shoo-in for Learning."
Depending on the grade level I like idioms too. . . Step Into Somebody Else's Shoes. . . If the Shoe Fits Wear It"

Hi! I have never done a shoe theme but what about Pete the Cat? You could tie that book series in as he is all about his school shoes!

I know it's an uncommon classroom theme, but shoes is my theme this year. It ties in with my last name Has anyone done this theme before? I've done a few things but am looking for some more inspiration.
