We all seem to need better activities for Work on Writing! Have you looked at the Daily 5 Website? If you don't subscribe, maybe you can get your P to get a school license so other people can also access it? Ours did and there are so many great videos and ideas on the site.

I don't teach K, but I imagine there's lots of letters stuff --- matching upper and lower magnet letters, copying, "writing the room," tracing shapes, motor skills stuff, etc at the beginning of the year.

After winter break perhaps giving them journals so they can copy words and illustrate (Richard Scary's Word Book and many others have pictures and labels). Then give them a sentence frame or two?

I see a _________.
It is __________.
It is __________.

A word bank can help with adjectives or other words and the label/captions in the books or in the room give them the first sentence.

Just a few things I've tried in the past. Good luck!
