This is great. I've got a few kids who really need help with small motor control, as well as those who struggle with their names.

Fun! I love when I can incorporate fine motor skills with academics. You've reminded me that I want to do hole punching and lacing in our morning art. I had kind of forgotten about it! Thank you for always being so generous with your work.

Here is an activity I made for my students to do this week to go along with our apple theme Apple-Letters in My Name . I have it set to make a copy so you can edit it. I will break it up into more than one day. I've done this activity for years and don't remember where I got the idea. The activity works on fine motor skills-cutting, hole punching, lacing, as well as, reviews letters in their names.

I will print the apple on red cardstock. You can cut out the apple or have the students do it. I will either have the students use letter stamps or I will print out the letters on white paper to make their name. (second slide) Students will stamp or glue the letters of their names on the line on the apple. They name the letters, identify the first letter in their names and count the letters in their names.

I added dots to outline the apple. Either the students or I will use a hole punch to punch out the dots. Then students will use yarn to lace in/out or around the apple.
