Good evening
I have another question about guided math for those who use it. Iím looking for pre assessments to use to form my groups if anyone is willing to share. I teach 4th grade and Iím looking for 3 leveled assessments (below, on level and high as an example) to give at the beginning of the year to form my groups. Thanks in advance!

I give the post-test as a pre-test before the unit starts. I don't let the students keep them, though they do get to look through them before the unit starts to set goals and at the end to reflect on their goals and learning. I use the pre-test to then help group them (along with my own observations, MAP testing, etc.)

My district uses an online program where the students are assessed monthly and I use that data to form ability based groups. If you use a math textbook, try giving a chapter test, without teaching, then base your groups on students' performance. My groups change monthly, based on the computer assessments, or sometimes I change the groups after giving a major assessment.
