Energizers
Activities that build classroom community
Interactive Modeling review/introduction based on the needs of your classroom
Poetry Notebooks
Weekly Reader
Read aloud and discussion of non-reading program books (again reinforcing community)
Perhaps a kick off for another subject (science KWL or a quick independent math game or fluency practice)

Just some off the top of my head...

I have this problem right now, too. By January we will be too busy to breathe.
We've been doing paper folding, making booklets with one piece of paper. I plan to teach them to make a booklet with 2 or more sheets of paper this week.

I moved down to first grade from third. With our reading program that we are supposed to teach with fidelity, I don't have enough to fill the day yet. What are some fun activities I can do with my kiddos? Today I had 20 minutes with nothing to do because the program didn't have enough to do.

Thanks all!
