thanks--that's what i'll do! I just hate to show up with them in a dish cooled down or show up with them in a pot and have to use the stove.

Yes I think that will work. Maybe just cook them to the very edge of done as they will continue to cook some even on the warm setting.

i'm bringing Candied Carrots to Christmas dinner.

i'll be cooking the carrots (boiling) then mixing with cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter. I want to keep them warm for about an hour or 2---can I put them in the crock pot without getting too mushy?
