Hi all-

This year I am going to have four different preps, with one of them being AP. I will also only have one 50 minute plan/lunch period.

I am fairly new to the game and was wondering if this is a typical load.

Thanks!

G

I had 3 preps last year with one planning period per day, but it was longer than 50 minutes. I am hoping to only have 2 preps this year...fingers crossed!

I would think it would depend on the subject you teach. I teach math and generally we only have teachers have 2 preps - generally one of them being PAP or AP. It does happen sometimes with the numbers that one or two teacher will have 3. That will generally mean something like this. Algebra 1, Algebra 1 PAP and Geometry. Or Geometry, Geometry PAP, and maybe Pre-college Algebra. If you are in a subject that doesn't have many teachers this might happen. I think our foreign language teachers or business teachers might have 4 preps. Good luck hopefully you will have good books to use that will help with planning.
