I also LOVE my cricut. It is 3 years old, I bought it USED on Ebay, and it still going strong. I semi-joke to my husband that I wish it would die so I can get the Expressions which cuts really huge letters!

do you all have and recommend? There's one on sale at Michael's for $99 but it seems like the small one? Any thoughts?

Check your AC Moore and Big Lots ads, they both do some great sales on cricut stuff. I just bought a 4 pack of cartridges from AC Moore for what it normally costs for ONE!

I don't use mine too much for school (lettering for bulletin boards once in a while), but I use it a lot to make cards and scrap booking. Of course, that's slowed down, too since the twins arrived........

Cricut! I use mine for bulletin boards and other projects in the classroom. I actually have the big one and the little one. I take the bigger one to school for classroom use and the small one stays home for scrapbooking projects.

I just got a yourstory book binder and laminator from HSN yesterday. Can't wait to use it today. Love Provocraft products.

You could laminate your paper before you cut the lettering. That way you wont have the "fuzz" left on your mat and the lettering will be protected for a long life!

I love my Cricut! I work it to death at the beginning of the year making tags for book bins, bulletin boards, etc. I would suggest to be sure you go out and get an extra mat (or 2 since they come in 2 packs) as well as extra blades (they average $12 for a 2 pack). Construction paper doesn't cut as well as cardstock (construction tears easier), and it will wear down your blade faster. Make sure the first time you use a new mat to be cutting with cardstock. The mats are SUPER sticky when you first get them, and construction paper tends to tear and leave a lot of residue on your brand new mat!
Enjoy!
I'll try and remember to post some pics of how I've used it in my room

But I will be honest, I don't use it half as much as I thought I would, but I have been teaching 6th grade. I'm moving back to 1st grade this year and I'm hoping to have more opportunities to use it with the younger kids. I find myself using it most often for lettering. I am a scrapbooker, and even then I use it most for titles. But I do LOVE the machine! Hope you love yours too! I'd love to see what other people use it for!

I can't remember where I got the idea for Smarty Pants, but this is my version. We made these pants, put Smarties in them, and gave them to our Reading Buddies, to wish them luck on the End-of-Grade tests.

The students made books about The Transportation Museum field trip.

I love my Cricut. We've used it for books, bulletin boards, projects, and gifts. I am getting ready to cut out clap boards (Hollywood theme) and letters for my word wall.

I will try to post some pictures. Maybe someone should start a Cricut in the Class group on PT.

I was able to scan these shapes with a program that I bought, and cut them out with the Cricut. This math activity was an idea from someone here on PT.

I just bought one too. I am so excited to use it for school, and would love to hear how experienced "cricut-ers" use it in their classrooms.
