So we were silently reading as students finished their math work. I find one student isn't doing math or reading, he's got his desk emptied out everywhere. I ask what he's doing and he says cleaning his desk. Normally, not a big deal; but, we just cleaned our desks out yesterday before moving our classroom seating around! I asked him why he didn't do it yesterday and he responds, "I didn't want to." Oh, the looks on my other students' faces as their mouths dropped
Some kids learn real fast you don't tell me you didn't do something just because you didn't want to; unfortunately, this one has yet to grasp that concept. As irritated as I was with the disrespect, I had to stifle the laughter at the reactions to my other students!
