I have a great cgi coach. I wish I could share her! Have you ever heard of math wall with cgi strategies?

I am going to try and incorporate CGI, as well. Rather than fully implement it (as I haven't had the training), I want to implement it for the CCSS about adding and subtracting within 20 (fluently w/in 10). I'm thinking that it's a good meaty standard for "getting my feet wet." If you have any CGI resources to recommend or advice, I'd all ears! I also made rekenreks and also strings of 120 beads, color coded by 10s. Am starting with the DOuble Decker Bus, am making games, and love those mini-lessons. SO excited about math this year!

Yes I've used the Double Decker Bus unit and her mini lessons with number strings. I like the unit but for me it took more time than she suggests. I loved using the math rekenrek. I even made individual ones for the kids. I also teach math with Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) strategies so have don't use all the FOsnot materials.

Has anyone incorporated C.T. Fosnot's "Contexts for Learning Math" into Common Core Math Instruction? If so, how is that working? Which unit did you start the year with?
