You might find some good ideas if you look up the responsive classroom page on YouTube and then search for Energizers. There's a book with activities for a wide range of ages if you like what you see on line.

Your post got me started thinking! I googled brain and body breaks for 3rd grade and found a blog with some really good ideas using "activity sticks."

The name of the blog is KEEP CALM AND TEACH ON

Of course one good thing just leads to another . . . You will find lots of other classroom blogs with tons of great ideas!

I currently use D5 in 3rd grade, but I am moving up to 4th next year. We currently do dancing motor breaks between rounds (Chicken Dance, Limbo, etc.), but I can tell they are starting to feel "too old" for that. Any ideas for brain/body breaks in the upper grades?

I'm especially curious to see if any folks do yoga...
