we have been introduced to the common core but were told not to introduce until the 2014-2015 school year. The reason given is that the new assessment wont take place until that time. My question is, should I start implementing some standards now or wait.......

Im trying to prepare for the new year but am stumped by this.

Can you please explain "create different stations"?

I would print out my state standards and then the common core and compare and contrast them. I am sure a lot of them are the same. I would take these 2 years are time for me to get to know the standards and find resources of my own to teach them. (create different stations). The only thing that would be a pain is if you were moved grades, but I'm sure you could still use whatever resources you've gathered to differentiate stations.

Check out the 3 teacher chicks blog. They have ELA and Math broken down into teacher language and student language. They are free pdf downloads and are fantastic!

In Kentucky, we have "deconstructed" the standards, which has been helpful for me in getting my brain around it all.

Someone posted Tulare County in CA for CC. It is a look resource. They break it down by grade. I've been using it.

Check out the Common Core group. Several great sites for kid-friendly CCSS have been posted.

Does anyone have a simple, easy to read list of the common core for third grade?
