Thank you FancyFish! I will hopefully bake them tomorrow. I made snickerdoodles, spritz, sugar and cream cheese cookies today. Time for bed!!

Here you go momteach!

1pk cake food mix (18.25 oz)
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 3/4 cup total add ins (nuts, chocolate chips, etc)

Combine first 3 ingredients with a spoon or a mixer on low speed until we’ll blended. Dough will be stiff. Add nuts, etc.

Drop rounded tablespoons on a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8 to 12 minutes or until just set.

Super easy and you can use any flavour cake mix and any extras you like.

Hokie, is that the Hannah Swenson series?

made cookies from a cake mix. However, I do make a cranberry orange bread for Christmas every year and those flavors are very good together.

I’ve made cookies like these before (and so did my mom) . You can switch it up and add in whatever extras (like cranberries and white chocolate chips) that you want. Careful with anything that will add moisture though as that will throw off the consistency.

I read a book series where the main character is a cookie baker and she has several different varieties of this type of cookie and she calls them all whippersnappers. I have her cookbook around here somewhere.

Can you share the recipe you have?
I would love to see it since I'm not sure how to do this, although I've googled a few and they do seem to be similar. But one with a good reference would be appreciated!!

I have a cake mix cookie recipe that I love! I usually add dried cranberries and nuts to a chocolate mix. I think cranberries would be good with orange, maybe with white chocolate chips.

small slices of mandarin oranges

Dried cranberries and white chocolate chips!

(Never had it. Just sounds good to me.)

I have a box of orange cake mix that I would like to use to try and make cookies. I have never made cookie with cake mix. Anyone have any suggestions? What do you think I should add? Or should I just leave it 'orange'?
