In the district I worked before it was the same pay. Not at this district you get para pay even you are a certified teacher.
Email your sub coordinator to make sure
$90 for teachers, $57 for paras

Sub paras get $13.50 an hour....log term sub paras get $15.50 an hour. If I sub a para postion I do not get classroom pay---I will get the para pay. I've never subbed a para position.

As a certified teacher, 20+ years ago, I got sub teacher pay. But now? Nope. $8.25 an hour unless its a one-one aide. Then it's $9.25 an hour. I don't take aide sub jobs now.

Because I am a certified teacher I would be paid as if I am a teacher sub in all the districts where I now work. In the past, when sub rates were lower, para subs were paid $10.00/hour which worked out to be about $5.00 more per day than being a sub teacher.

Here retired subs get 140 per day, regular subs 120. Sub paras get between $14.64 and $16.68 per hour depending on the assignment. If sub teachers take para jobs they are paid the para rates. I do pick up para jobs, because I want to work but donít want to deal with a whole class everyday and at the start of the school year para jobs are all thatís really available.

My district pays $50/day for sub paras, regardless of whether or not youíre a certified teacher. The paras donít get paid near what theyíre worth (if theyíre good), and the sub pay for a para just isnít worth it for me.

In our district certified substitutes receive the same pay for certified and paraprofessional sub jobs. This year it is $18 per hour. I take both certified and para positions and enjoy the variety. Both teachers and paraprofessionals work very hard!!

Just curious- How much do sub Paras make in your district/school?

Is there a separate pay scale for certified teachers who decide to take a sub gig for a paraprofessional, or is it the same pay no matter who takes the job?
