We are attempting to create an art room at our school (no art teacher, but a space where teachers could take their students for art lessons).

Other than the obvious - paint, brushes, paper, etc. What do we need? I'm hoping to write a DonorsChoose project in the fall to help get stuff, any help with what to get would be appreciated.

thanks

Yarn and a drying racks. Yarn is so freaking expensive.

Yarn, cardboard or paper plated for weaving, tissue paper, beads, air dry clay, plastic forks, spoons, knives for texture in tempera paint, paper bags and straws.

What a great idea!

Have teachers and families donate old magazines and newspapers to use for collaging.
Smocks (you can use large old t-shirts) are useful.

Will add those to the list

A drying rack!

I'd also get some posters of famous art to decorate the room, if you get enough money.
