The Spanish teacher at my old school just suggested that I might want to help chaperone a trip to Puerto Rico with her and another teacher. That would be lots of fun!

I have been wanting to visit my father in law, but he doesn't speak much English and he speaks really fast idiomatic Puerto Rican hillbilly Spanish, so spending a week with him would be challenging. My mother in law used to do the translating, since she was bilingual, but she passed away a few years ago. So if I go with this group, I could see them briefly, maybe for dinner or an afternoon, which would be simpler. Not sure my brain could handle the Spanish immersion for a week!

We'll see if this comes to pass...
