I want to create a study guide for my students, however to illustrate several examples I want to use images published in the internet as well as illustrated examples from other websites. I am not making money off this study guide, but since i don't have a program that i can use to create the visuals i want to use (do you guys know about a program that will help me create visuals, drawings, font??) to explain math concepts and strategies, my best resort is the internet. Am i infringing any copyright laws??

of copyrighted works. There is a clause in the copyright regs that allow the use of certain things for non-profit, educational use.

Read it for yourself and see if this is appropriate in your case. Since you are not selling it at all, it may be one of the exceptions. Check it out.

to get the images you need, just to be on the safe side.

I could give you a free sites, but I recommend you Google "Copyright Free Images Creative Commons" to get started.

Lots of Math images could be created withing Word and Publisher, and you could always create your own images on a whiteboard or SMART Board and insert them.

Painstaking, yes, but legal.
