Anyone teach a unit on PA? I'd love to hear some of your ideas/projects/lessons for teaching about Pennysylvania. Thanks!

When we studied rivers and cities of PA, we had several parents make a 9 by 13 cake of any kind, and then put white icing on it and send it in to the classroom. After studying the river systems and several large cities, we divided the kids into as many groups as we had cakes. Then they used red icing gel to make an outline of the state, blue gel for the rivers, and yellow gel for dots of the cities. The kids loved it. Then we explained our project to our first grade buddies and any one else and cut the cake and ate them!! YUM! The kids loved it and did rather well on the quiz!
