in a middle school. We are in our fifth season. When we were new, we adapted a few reader's theatre scripts and performed those, so instead of A play, we had three or four little short ones. We used The Twits and Sideways Stories From Wayside School. Those are great for sixth graders, but probably too young for eighth graders.
You could put together a mime show. That might be fun, and no one has to memorize lines.
If you're a writer, you could write a short play yourself.
If you just want to know what to do with them in class, maybe they could write and perform three or four minute scenes.

I am teaching drama to junior high kids for the next 6 weeks. I have done a few games, but I would like to do a little more, maybe a small production. Does anyone have some good sites that outline how to put a production together or just some general drama games that help with the big picture?
