I have been using this program for three years now. It is a way of organizing and teaching strategies for comprehension, accuracy, fluency, and expanding vocabulary. I find that students make great gains in their reading for several reasons. Students are reading books they choose themselves so they want to read them. They are reading by themselves, with a partner or listening to reading and there are not a lot of followups to do on what they have read. They are doing more reading and- what better way to learn to read! I have gone to inservices on the Daily 5 and use their methods/ideas but everyone can implement them in a way which is comfortable to them. By all means, give it a try. I think you'll love it.

Just curious your thoughts on this program? I have seen and heard a lot of it on Pintrest. I have loved what I can view of it on their website and our school is thinking about moving in a new direction, but I don't know much about this program and would like to know teachers that have used it if you like it and do you think that it works?
