I am just curious? Do you have each group for 2 periods a week? Are those two periods consecutive on those two longer days?

I am definitely aiming on doing that! Thanks.
And by "Wow" do you mean, wow it's great, or wow it's crazy? Lol

I teach 4th grade ELA and SS...and all I can say is WOW, what a schedule!!! I totally agree with Linda! Definitely focus more on the ELA and incorporate the SS in informational text.

Great advice Linda! Thanks. Yes, all periods are 45 minutes each. I tried to actually upload a picture of my schedule but I couldn't. We use AERO standards, which are for international schools, but I'm sure I can still integrate.

First of all, WOW what a schedule
Are the periods 45 min each?
I would just make sure to be heavy on ELA and less time on s.s. And as you mentioned , when you can, integrate. When we do an informational skills unit I just use mostly s.s. topics. Same with writing, I try to use topics related to our s.s. standards. So for example when studying Ohio Indians, students complete an Indian research report of some kind.

Looking for some ideas and advice : our school day has been extended and our teaching periods have been made a little shorter (45 mins). I teach 4th and 5th grade ELA and SS. The amount of periods I teach per day varies.
2 days I teach 6 periods of 45 minutes (4th and 5th grade classes),
1 day I teach 5 periods,
1 day I teach 4 periods and
1 day I teach 3 periods.
I teach 12 periods a week for 5th grade and 12 periods for 4th grade. (I hope that's not too confusing!!)
I have to organize which periods I'm going to use for SS and which for ELA (although I am hoping to integrate SS and Science - with the Science teacher's help, during ELA).
I also want to devote certain periods to writing, grammar and reading rotations.
How much time would you give a week for Writing and Grammar, or would you integrate it?
Thanks so much!
