but, this online thing is new for administrators also. They are probably trying to get a handle on how things are working for both teachers and students. And, of course, they are needing to adjust their own thinking about how to do their own jobs--including teacher evaluations.

How comfortable are you with admin? Could you have a private chat with one of them to express your unhappiness with the observation schedule? Be sure to offer some concrete positive suggestions for what changes would help. Do they even know how often they are each in the class? Does one know what the others are doing?

I would try to find the positives in the situation if possible. When you see administrators in your class, can the students see them? Can you include them in class discussions or activities? Can you send them private messages asking them to monitor a particular student or activity that you could use input on? And then follow up later with questions about what they observed?

Make them feel like they are welcomed and appreciated, even if they aren't! It will pay off in the end.

All that said, I am truly sorry you feel so pressured. This has been a very tough year!

I think informals can have multiple purposes, in no particular order:

1) See what/how youíre doing, even as a simple wellness check.
2) see how youíre teaching and emailing/telling you constructive feedback.
3) whole-team general walkthroughs, to see trends (most teachers arenít providing enough rigor, everyone has engaging activities, etc.
4) observing studentsí behaviors.
5) observing parents.

I think when we're remote, admins find themselves with less to do and therefore more time for observing . We've had so many new people for P to focus on that I became accustomed to not having walkthroughs. When we went remote, P started popping into my and my veteran teammates' zooms, and also showing up in things like team meetings.

It's actually been okay, because in our eval system, once something is "marked off" from an observation, those points are yours for the year. Our end of year eval isn't based on an average of observations or anything like that. So, more evals= more opportunities to get points. I'm feeling much better about the fact that most things are marked off before I've even had my one formal eval this year.

I was a little perturbed that my AP, who is not my evaluator, came to my zoom yesterday. He stayed the whole time and then didn't say a word to me- no email, nothing in our eval system. My teammate said he did the same thing to her like 4 weeks ago, so I don't think anything is coming either. Why bother coming if you're not going to say anything?? Feels creepy to me.

We are getting observed almost daily.

We have a team of 4 administrators.

One time all 4 were there. We use Webex and when they come in they take up space on who I can see. I really really don't want to see you.

They email us little notes.

We meet 3 days a week. (Staff meeting, grade level meeting, correlate meeting)
