Sometimes I'll teach my kids to zentangle and they can do that. Or just drawing on white boards (but only black markers available - I'm not going to sit and listen to fights over colors). This year they are also enjoying "sewing" as a quiet activity. I think having a few choices always helps with the buy-in.

My class and I are struggling with the transition into the classroom after lunch.

We have all our snowclothes, a limited space, and some high energy.

A read aloud is NOT working. A space to read by yourself is not working.

I always have on a fireplace (smartboard) and some quiet music.

Today I am going to try a coloring sheet at their desk with some quiet music.

I am looking for some other ideas please.
