School House Rock videos are awesome that teach students about grammar through catchy songs. All of the videos are accessible on YouTube. I watched them when I was in elementary school and I still find myself singing the songs! Iím not familiar with the first grade curriculum, so these may be a too advanced, but itís worth a try!

Language Arts meets Art appreciation -
Have students research art that matches the setting of the story. It can be art depicting the setting or produced there (or at that time).

Language Arts meets Art Interpretation -
Pretend you are the character in the story, and draw/paint/take photographs of subjects the characters would choose. Explain your work.

Language Arts meets Commercial Art -
Illustrate the story yourself, using _______ medium. Teach mini-lessons on the different media between the ELA lessons.

I have a project where I have to come up with several ways to teach Art in the classroom. I have to somehow relate art to the subject Language Arts. I can use photography, music, art, dancing etc. Are there any good books/ songs/activites/worksheets etc that can help me out!? Open to any and all suggestions
