Do you do ClassDojo? They had some videos last year that are still available to members (FREE) about students who feel they fail, get frustrated, and want to give up. "The power of yet." It does leave an impression on the kids. This year they did a short topic on empathy. Love them, and so do the students. A nice way to end the day...

I love the "yet" method! Just the other day, I saw some student pictures posted where they filled in a large bubble-lettered "yet" with some things they wanted to learn to do.

But I started using the word "yet" with my students.

They say "I don't get it" and I just wait for them to repeat it to "I don't get it, yet."

Small change in language, big change in effort.
