THis happens atleast twice a month at my school with my IA. It drives us nuts and really puts a strain on the support for my kids. We’ve complained to admin but it’s a county wide issue which doesn’t help.

I teach in a sub separate classroom and have never had this happen to me, however, not knowing your exact situation, I'm guessing there's still at least a 90% chance that you're out of compliance with IEPs by having your para pulled to sub????

I'd bring that up to admin as a concern...specifically mentioning compliance concerns... and I feel like I'd try to somehow manage to let my SPED admin know what was happening as well... yikes, good luck!

I would LOVE if my Para was pulled. Sad to say but the couple times she was out with no sub my day went so much smoother.

No, she’s not certified. She’s not happy about it, either. She was hired to be a para, not a sub.

Yikes, that would make me mad, too. I'm mad for you! Is your para a certified teacher? In my district paras aren't allowed to cover a class.
