I know the Common Core focuses on ELA and Math, but will science (specifically 6th grade) be affected by the Common Core? If so, how?

There is a draft out there - somewhere. I'm looking. There will be a second draft soon - so says the next generation science standards site. Would like to see the rough draft. If anyone has the first - please share.

In our district, we have been told the common core science standards are completed and will be out by Dec. 2012. I keep trying to find them on the internet, but I have not had any luck. If someone knows where to find them, please share.

Yes, you will be definitely be affected.

There are science literacy standards that are to be integrated and implemented in your science classes.

Go here and you can see them.

that these will come later. I think by next year we will probably have the standards for science and social studies too. Right now the focus is on literacy in in these 2 areas.
