Ugh. We were required to use it "to fidelity" the first 2 years. It is not engaging, there's almost no fiction, and our test scores tanked.

It needs to be supplemented in big, huge ways. I hated it.

Our district adopted this program this year. The teachers absolutely HATE it! The mini-lessons don't reach the children, and we feel at the end of the week that we have taught nothing. The children are completely bored. It gives us no room for creativity nor to add our own lessons. Our students come to us substantially below grade level, and this program assumes all students are on grade level. It teaches way above their reading level (whole group). Students are not excited about reading, and short of a song and dance, it's all I can do to keep their attention during whole group (which never used to be a problem). The work load has greatly increased, as well.

We use it for our reading series. It is missing all story type text. Be ready to supplement a lot. As the other poster said the levels don't match the students in class. The one nice part it the online access to all books and resources.

We have used it in our county for the past three years. The program is ok. I wished they used some authentic literature. It is very heavy in nonfiction. For our grade level, the range of levels did not meet the needs of our students. 3rd grade program had levels M-P, but I have had students as low as H almost every year. It is a pain to borrow books from lower levels and keep track of the books. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask me.

We are starting this program this year, and I'm curious if anyone has used it. If you have, any comments, suggestions, ideas would be appreciated. We have two days of training later this month, but at this point, I don't know anything about it.
