I am not good at teaching group poetry. But my large class is Grade 1 and we have to go in a verse speaking competition in my district! HELP. I am starting to panic as I haven't even yet picked 2 contrasting poems for my kids to say. I have been trying for days to find some!!
PLEASE help me find suitable poems that they could say together. Ones that have good length that lend themselves to expression, voice, props maybe??
I want us to go well, and I am trying to not feel like a failure already. Please give me any poems that you like or that have won you a place in a recital etc.
Help much appreciated. Thank you.
