I have a huge tree outside my classroom door. Each month we focus on a type of poetry. Then the children write their own poems and publish them. We glue the poems to month/season related shapes. For example fall colored leaves in the fall, snowflake shapes in the winter. My kids love that their work is displayed and it is an easy to manage and maintain hallway decoration.

I made one on my bulletin board out of construction paper and will have my students find and update poems (6th grade) I'm hoping it will work.

was a big pole right in the middle of my classroom. I covered it in brown paper made palm tree like leaves and hung them around the top of the tree. We hung up all their published poems mounted on cloud shaped paper. I tried to change up the poems but didn't keep up with it as much as I'd like to.

My Poet-Tree is an old outdoor umbrella base. My husband built a "tree" on it with large twigs & branches that came off when our trees needed pruning. The students poems go on the tree hanging from the branches.

I read somewhere in one of the posts that someone put up a poe-tree to put poems on in their room and I am curious as to how this would operate. It sounds really cute.
