Thanks for the ideas. I haven't seen a prose version of Casey at Bat, but will look it up. We have actually already read this poem and watched the animated version so they have some understanding of it. I appreciate your suggestions.

I will be doing several with my fourth graders in the coming weeks-

#1 Casey at the Bat and a prose rendition (easy found with an internet search). The poem is quite hard. The prose rendition quite a bit easier and much easier to understand.

# Marvelous Molting by Joanne Ryder and Freaky Frogs (non-fiction from Readworks.com -lexile about 750). In this set the poem is quite a bit easier and the prose is harder.

I can't attach anything- nothing here is orignial to me!
