I know many candidates have talked about Praxis study guides to prep for various content areas. Reviewing state standards can help.

Re-taking the SR is a good strategy. It is weighted more heavily than anything else (including the CR items), a very small time/labor commitment, and gives you the most bang for your buck. Additionally, statistically, the more times you take a standardized test, the higher your score. Best luck, whatever you decide.

Excellent idea! I use BrainPOP frequently. I have been teaching 6th grade for 11 years. If it doesn't fit in 6th grade standards, I have forgotten it.

First-time poster but I've been reading this board for a bit!

I did really well on Comp. 1 (I just certified and it was my highest score.). I certified in middle grades generalist. One thing I did to help with science was read the Next Gen Science Standards, along with my state standards. I made notes of the standards I was not completely sure of my understanding. Then, I watched BrainPOP and Flocabulary videos about these standards! Not joking! They really helped me.

Best of luck on your journey to retake.

I am going to retake E3 Science. I scored a 2.25 on that section, but did much better on E1 Reading and E2 Math scoring a 3 on both. I feel like my science content knowledge is low. Any suggestions? I thought about reading over my state standards for grades 4-6. This could help with knowledge on real-world phenomenas and show how the standards flow. I honestly feel like I can put an enriching lesson together and integrate other content areas pretty well. I just need a stronger understanding of science concepts.

I'm also going to retake the Selected Response Section. Any suggestions there? Is the Successful Strategies book beneficial for C1, or is more for C2?
