She owes her principal a thank-you note because it is the right thing to do. Next time she needs his/her assistance, he/she will remember the note and be there immediately.

As educators, we don't acknowledge each other enough. We need to have each other's back, support each other through the good times and bad times, and be grateful for that support. Acknowledgement builds positive spirit.

I love being acknowledged for going the extra mile...and a small thing like a thank-you note is an acknowledgement worth writing.

Sometimes principals need a pick up! Itís a tough job. Chocolate & a note-pass it forward.

It is wise to reinforce behavior you want to have repeated. Ignoring positive behaviors often leads to extinction; unfortunately not the case for negative behaviors which usually have their own reinforcers.

Using management techniques on management is helpful.

Why does she owe her P a thank you? It's the P's job to support the teacher?

Tori58 05-24-2019 03:31 AM

It really makes a difference, doesn't it? That's awesome.

like you owe your principal a thank-you note and chocolate.

You are very lucky to have such wonderful support.

Awesome! I would love a principal like this. It would feel like a gift at the end of the year since it's so tiring.

My kids were completely ridiculous today doing over the top crap that they know better than to pull and have never tried to pull with me all year.

And my P totally supported me and handled all of it with real reasonable logical consequences. She even called the parents for me so I didnt have to and told them they needed to reimburse me for destroyed supplies.

My P rocks!

This day could have crushed my little teacher spirit, but with a supportive admin who holds kids accountable and supports teachers is was totally doable! I feel like I won something!
