I love the way that the clothes smell when they come out of the wash.

I LOVE the smell of Arm and Hammer Clean Meadow! I also use liquid April Fresh Downey.

How about sticking with the scent and dye free laundry detergents and adding a drop of essential oil to a vinegar rinse?

If you like lavender, that works really well. I personally like lemon or peppermint.

Was it the Tide or the Downey you were smelling? I stopped using Downey and now when I go back to it it is very strong. For fabric softener, I use some organic kind I bought at Whole Foods. Does the job without a noticeable scent (although they do say they are lavender scented). Still get the clean clothes smell from the Tide.

I’m extremely sensitive to smells, but the All detergent pods are very mild with a barely there pleasant scent. I’ve used them for years.

We all love the Apple Mango Tango from Gain. I don't find it overwhelming at all, but maybe we're just used to it.

Gain also has a "cold water oxi boost" variety that we really like. It's actually milder smelling so you may prefer that one.

Arm and hammer sensitive unscented. No longer use dryer sheets...they are brimming with chemicals. We bought the dryer ball!

I use an unscented detergent and throw in a scoop of oxyclean. It adds a touch of a clean scent that isn’t overwhelming.

I like the light scent of Persil, plus it's a really good detergent. However, I don't really smell it once I wear the clothes.

Maybe you'd like lavender dryer bags. I still use unscented detergent but I add lavender dryer bags when I'm drying sheets and towels. The scent isn't overpowering and it's healthier for you, too. Seventh Generation makes a naturally scented lavender fabric softener, too.

I love the smell of linen and lilies natural elements detergent from Purex. It's not too strong. To me, it smells like laundry that has been dried outside on a clothesline in the sunshine.

and then found it was too strong. I mixed it 50/50 with a bottle of unscented detergent in an old bottle, and it was just right for us.

Use a regular detergent of your choice and add your own liquid fabric softener. You can adjust how much you add which you can’t do with an all-in-one. I like Downey’s April Fresh Fabric Softener.

I use the original tide. I can't use extra scented stuff because of my asthma. Stayed at my DS's and he uses tide with Downy. I just did an extra rinse and it was fine.

My girls both have sensitive skin, and for 21+ years, I have used laundry detergents that were free of dye and scents. Now that they're both grown and out of the house (for the most part), I wanted to go back to scented detergents. I love the smell and I missed it. I tried Tide with Downey on my sheets, and it was incredibly strong and overwhelming. It distracted me while I slept, waking me up through the night!

So I guess I'm looking for something a little milder. Any suggestions?
